If I found out I had a deaf student I’d try my best to learn some sign language if I can’t I could like write notes to talk

I’m deaf with cochlear implants and I understand this my parents will not allow me to have a service dog for me and I really need one is there a tip so that you can help me convince them I find it hard Bieing deaf I nearly get ran over by cars there are a place with cheaper service dogs and my parents can afford it it’s just because they don’t like how much stress and stuff I have to go through or for anxiety so any tips?

It must be confusing if someone speaks another language, but by just reading lips everything becomes an incoherent mess.

😂 Told a deaf friend in collegethat opening a bottle of soda makes noise, and if you open it slowly it makes a noise for longer! Had to tell her 'cause she did it in class. We had a good laugh though. (That class sucked anyway. The only good thing was me, her, and our HoH friend had it together, and the 'terp was also a friend)

I actually watch lips because I have certain tones limited from noise exposure in military. It makes people really uncomfortable, or they think I’m flirting, lol. But it sure comes in handy in a busy room with loud voices talking over each other. Next is to learn to sign. I always encourage my kids to enunciate and use their mouth properly so people can lip read.

This is something so common with OCD but with people self-diagnosing. OCD is a complicated disorder and it’s not just being overly organised, it’s debilitating thoughts, constantly obsessing over things positively or negatively, the inability to stop yourself from doing rituals or habits, etc etc. I had when people are like “Oh, I’m so organised, I’m so OCD!” like no, you just like organisation?!

I watch all of your content mostly because you look good, but also because I am hoping to soak up some sign language accidentally. So far I know 3 phrases.
